How do I manage chronic pancreatitis on a daily basis?

Individuals with chronic pancreatitis are usually hospitalized. Because eating and drinking cause the pancreas to start working to produce enzymes, the individual will not be able to eat or drink so the pancreas can rest. The doctor will prescribe pain medication along with IV fluids and nutrition. After leaving the hospital, do not drink alcohol. Eat a low-fat diet to reduce the chance of gallstones. Drink plenty of water. Relaxation therapy, yoga, or meditation may help manage the pain. If symptoms worsen, contact the doctor immediately.
