How will having metal braces affect how my child's teeth look?

While your child is wearing metal braces, they will be visible. Metal braces have small metal brackets that are bonded, or glued, to the front of the teeth. They are wired together, so it will be obvious that your child is wearing braces. Once the braces come off, however, your child’s teeth should be straighter, with no gaps and a corrected bite.
