What is azoospermia?

Azoospermia is the absence of live spermatozoa in the semen, or the body's failure to form live sperm. Azoospermia is classified as obstructive or nonobstructive. Obstructive azoospermia is when there is a blockage or lack of the tubes that permit the spermatozoa to get into the ejacualate. Nonobstructive occurs for reasons other than obstruction, such as failure to produce spermatazoa.

The lack of sperm production is called azoospermia.
