What are the symptoms of malaria in a pandemic outbreak?

After a person is infected with malaria, infected red blood cells are destroyed and breakdown, releasing mature parasites back into the bloodstream. Toxic factors related to the parasite's activity inside the red blood cells are also released into the bloodstream, causing the typical malarial symptoms of relapsing fever, severe chills, nausea, vomiting, headache, discolored urine, and feelings of generalized illness. Malaria can be considered an ongoing pandemic.
