What are the side effects of stimulant laxatives?

Stimulant laxatives have more side effects than other laxatives. The most serious side effects include bloody stools, cramping, pain, weakness, dizziness, and tiredness. Other side effects include diarrhea and nausea. Stimulant laxatives can also cause changes in the color of  urine but this effect is not serious.
