How often should tongue cleaning be performed?

The ADA recommends brushing your teeth twice daily for two minutes each. During this process, you should also lightly brush your tongue. This removes any excess plaque and odor-causing bacteria.
Tongue cleaning should be done every time you brush your teeth and floss. Ideally this should be after every meal and at bedtime. If you cannot brush your tongue after every meal, then the most important time is before you go to bed.
