Should an athlete with concussion symptoms leave the game?

If an athlete exhibits concussion symptoms, it is important to pull them out of a game because the initial bruise to the brain has already caused serious damage to their cognitive abilities.

If the athlete suffers another concussion in the same game, which is known as second concussion syndrome, he will be placed in a life-threatening position. If he survives, he will suffer permanent brain damage and will likely lose the ability to perform many basic life functions.
