Are there alternative treatments for gallstones?

No alternative treatments have been verified to cure or dissolve gallstones. Some, however, appear to help in reducing or preventing complications from gallstones. A diet high in fiber that includes lots of fruits and vegetables and healthy fats may help keep new gallstones from developing. Adding vitamins C and E or calcium to your diet, either in your choice of foods or from supplements, may also prevent new gallstones from forming.
