How do vaginal anti-fungal suppositories interact with other medications?

Stacy Wiegman, PharmD
Pharmacy Specialist

No drug interactions are likely to occur with vaginal anti-fungal suppositories. However, talk to your doctor about all of the medications you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications and supplements before you begin using vaginal anti-fungal suppositories, to make sure there is no danger. Some products may affect the action of anti-fungal medication. Prescription blood thinners like warfarin may have increased action, resulting in bruising or bleeding. Do not use douches, spermicides, tampons or other vaginal products while using vaginal anti-fungal suppositories.
