Very low calorie diets are not recommended for weight loss. If you eat a diet that is low in carbs and high in fiber and healthy proteins and fats, you should lose weight and keep your blood sugar in good control. Avoid refined carbs (things made with flour or sugar) and don't dip below 1,500 calories per day, unless recommended by your doctor.
