You may experience side effects while using VCF Vaginal Contraceptive Film (or any product containing nonoxynol 9). Skin irritation is common, including itching, burning, or stinging. Irritation can increase your risk of infection by viruses such as HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases; talk to your doctor if you experience irritation that persists or is severe. Other possible side effects include: bloody or cloudy urine, pain during urination, unusually frequent urination, abdominal pain, bladder pain, vaginal dryness, or white vaginal discharge. Be sure to consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become long-lasting or bothersome.
