Who should receive Fragmin?

Fragmin is a prescription drug to help prevent dangerous blood clots in people who have undergone major surgery, such as a hip replacement or abdominal (stomach) surgery. It is given to help prevent clots during the phase right after surgery when people cannot walk, which is when clotting is most likely to occur. Blood clots can lead to serious complications such as pulmonary embolism.
