Do I need to take special care of my feet while taking warfarin?

While you're taking warfarin, you're at increased risk of bleeding, so you need to take special care to avoid bleeding of your feet. Warfarin prevents your blood from clotting, so it may be difficult to stop the bleeding if you hurt your foot. Avoid going barefoot where you could step on something sharp and cut your foot. Be careful when you trim your toenails. Avoid cutting corns or calluses.
