The risk of liver damage occurring while taking Viread (tenofovir) may increase with the use of alcohol. Therefore, you should avoid drinking alcohol when using Viread.

There are many drugs that may interact with Viread. These include amphotericin B, pentamidine, tacrolimus, certain antibiotics, certain other antiviral medications, aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), some diuretics, and certain other HIV or AIDS medications. It is imperative that you discuss any and all drugs that you take -- whether they be prescription, over-the-counter, or vitamins and supplements -- with your doctor. Your doctor may need to monitor these in combination with your Viread treatment or adjust your dosage accordingly.
