How should I use flurandrenolide?

Flurandrenolide comes as a cream, lotion or tape and may be used with or without a dressing. It is applied to the skin only; you should avoid getting it near your eyes. Clean the area if advised by a doctor. Then rub in the medicine thinly and gently as directed by your doctor.

To apply, tape, shave or clip the treatment area to allow good contact with the skin and comfortable removal. Cut the tape to fit the area, and round the corners. Remove its backing and press it into place. Clean the skin again and let dry for one hour if you need to replace the tape.  Unless instructed otherwise by your health care provider, replace tape after 12 hours.

To apply an occlusive dressing, follow the directions above but use plastic film such as plastic wrap and hold it in place with adhesive tape. If the area is moist, puncture the plastic to allow it to dry.

You can use plastic bags on feet, plastic gloves on hands, a shower cap on the scalp and garment bags on the trunk.
