What are the side effects of Demerol?

The most dangerous side effects caused by Demerol are respiratory depression and circulatory depression. Demerol has been known to cause cardiac and respiratory arrest as well as shock. Other side effects include:

  • dizziness
  • lightheadedness
  • nausea
  • sedation
  • sweating
  • vomiting

Cardiovascular side effects include:

  • bradycardia
  • flushing of the face
  • hypotension
  • palpitation
  • syncope
  • tachycardia

Gastrointestinal side effects include:
