[MUSIC PLAYING] I've been managing type 2 diabetes for almost 20 years.
Here are my five top tips to keep yourself healthy.
It's so important to keep your doctor's appointments and get your lab work done.
A timely A1C result gives your doctor a roadmap on your progress and will only benefit you.
Do not skip your medication and take them as directed by your doctor.
We all get busy but make this a regular part of your routine. The results were really pay off like they have for me.
Be sure to eat healthy meals and watch your carb intake. This one thing can do the most to help you control your diabetes.
If you're overweight, you must shed those extra pounds. I did. A healthy weight will really help keep your diabetes
in check. Get moving. Regular exercise is a healthy component
in keeping your weight down. Try walking every day to get your heart rate up
and lose those extra pounds. OK, let's go. Keep working hard, and good luck, you can control your diabetes.
