Nichole details what contributes to a hard day while living with type 2 diabetes.
Transcript
Again, everything is fine, um, just emotions, you know? A hard day with type 2 diabetes looks differently today
than it has in the past. I think, in the past, it was waking up with fasting blood sugars in the 270s and feeling so swollen, and inflamed,
and so lethargic. And then I would also kind of couple that with just feeling like, why am I feeling so lazy? Why am I so unproductive?
And why can't I seem to keep up with other people? And so those days were really hard physically and emotionally for me.
Now, my hard days are more so when I forget to take my medicine, and I notice some of that lethargy and some of that swelling kind
of like start creeping back up. And then I'm like, oh, I was not so timely on my medication, so I need to get back on that.
So when my stomach is like, hey, brain, like we're full. My brain was never getting those messages because of the insulin resistance.
And so that medication is helping me do that. If you're finding yourself having more of those hard days, I cannot stress enough, find a provider who you can trust
and who's going to advocate for you. It changes so much about your type 2 diabetes journey when you have a provider that you are on the same team as
and who is there for you. [MUSIC PLAYING]
