Hi, I'm Dr. Miller with today's smart health tip for you. Do you live with a picky eater? You're not alone. Lots of kids and plenty of adults, especially men,
can't stand broccoli and other strong flavored veggies like cauliflower and kale. That's because their taste buds are hyper sensitive
to bitter flavors. Most people outgrow this reaction, but you don't want to wait that long for your kids to learn to love veggies.
Here's an almost foolproof way to get the broccoli off the plate and down the hatch. Serve it with ranch dressing.
The creaminess in the dressing helps tame the bitterness in the vegetables. It's so effective that kids happily eat 80% more veggies.
But choose your ranch dressing wisely. Many bottle dressings harbor lots of sodium, sugar, and saturated fat.
Instead, whip up your own homemade dip using fat free Greek yogurt, a squeeze of lemon, garlic, a dash of salt, and whatever herbs
and spices your family enjoys. Try chives, parsley, , dill, pepper, and maybe a little ground mustard.
Serve it with a plate of cut up veggies and watch them disappear. [AUDIO LOGO]
