Is a ruptured brain aneurysm fatal?
-
A ruptured brain aneurysm is often fatal. About 40 percent of people who suffer from a ruptured brain aneurysm die within the first 24 hours. Complications account for an additional 25 percent of people who die within six months. Of those who survive, more than half will suffer some sort of disability as a result. The outcome has much to do with the overall health and age of the person when the rupture occurred.
