You will need to avoid certain activities, foods and medications while taking potassium chloride. Potassium may interact with the following drugs and herbal supplements: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), indomethacin, water pills (diuretics), dandelion, gossypol, licorice. potassium containing foods and supplements, and other. Low-sodium foods and salt substitutes should be avoided during your treatment with potassium chloride. These foods contain potassium, and eating them can increase the level of potassium in your blood. Exercise can also change the amount of potassium in the blood, so you should not start a fitness program or increase your activity without first speaking with your doctor. Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids.
