Hyaluronic acid is a part of our connective tissue that makes skin look plump; it retains moisture to the tissues and helps firm up wrinkles. Watch plastic surgeon Shirley Madhere, MD, explain the benefits of hyaluronic acid and where to find it.
I still love Hyaluronic acid, and we're born with hyaluronic acid. It is, what can I say, it's a sugar gel, it's part of your connective tissue, and it's what babies are born with. We are all born with it and it's what gives babies that plump and duwy and just beautiful looking skin. And as we age unfortunately we lose much of that hyaluronic acid, but have no fear because you can now get it over the counter on the shelf or by prescription or in the form of a syringe.
So hyaluronic acid attracts and retains moisture to the tissues and it really helps to firm out wrinkles, helps to plump up the skin, and it just helps the tissues to retain moisture. So I really think it's an important part of every man and woman's beauty regiment.
