Why Should I Cut Down on "Empty Calories?"

So often things that are empty calories might be all fat-free, all artificial sugar-free, than they're adding salt for flavor, but you're not really giving your body any nutrients. So you you're going to be hungry really quickly and you're going to constantly be re-feeding yourself, feeding yourself these empty calories that aren't doing anything for your body.

So instead of eating empty calorie foods, just eat nutrient- dense foods. You can have smaller portions of them because you're going satisfied, you're not having to stuff yourself with all these empty calories.
