There are definitely certain foods that can make acid reflux worse or cause it in certain individuals. Caffeine is a big culprit. So coffee, tea, or caffeinated sodas, chocolate is another thing we warn patients about, tomatoes or tomato sauce, citrus fruits or citrus juice like orange juice, grape fruit juice and pepper mint.

These are the main foods that can make acid reflux worse, but any very rich fatty meal, greasy meal or higher fat meal can also do it.
