Read Transcript

Exercise is an extremely important part of the management of rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is the prototype of the inflammatory arthritides. By virtue of it being an inflammatory arthritis, the symptoms typically are worse in the morning and patients can experience two to three hours of prolonged morning stiffness.

Exercise not only helps to improve the pain and stiffness that is associated with rheumatoid arthritis, but it also is incredibly important to strengthen the muscles that surround the joints and offer the joints more support.
