How Do I Lower My Caffeine Intake?

A lot of people ask me how can they reduce their caffeine intake and one of the things I tell people all the time is never go cold turkey. If you go cold turkey off of caffeine, you can get the shakes, you can get nauseous I've even had patients end up in the ER. So one of the things that I tell people all the time is to very slowly do caffeine fading, which means total up the number of items that you ingest during the day that have caffeine.

So let's say that they're six, take the last two and make them half caffeine and half decaf, do that for two weeks, then turn those last two into complete decaf. Now you're down to four, then take two more, make those half caffeine, half decaf, and complete the process, it should take you about six weeks to be completely off caffeine.

Be very very careful because caffeine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world.
