Interstitial cystitis also known as painful bladder syndrome is when you have an irregularity of the membranes within your bladder and this can cause frequent urination, painful urination and it's something that you should see your physician about, if you've been treated for urinary tract infections quite often, and it does not seem to have the symptoms go away. Common symptoms of interstitial cystitis may include painful urination, may include bloody urination and also pain with sex, these are reasons why you might want to see your physician if you experience these, and your doctor may want do a workup for interstitial cystitis.
