When it comes to snacks, really think mini meals as opposed to junk food, and you will be well on your way to a much more satisfying and nourishing menu. Next if you think of your typical meal, it's just going to be smaller so you still want to include either a whole grain, or fruit or a vegetable, and then combine that with a healthy fat and or protein.

So for instance you might have an apple with a piece of cheese or you might have a banana with some peanut butter, or you might have a small amount of trail mix or you might have a yogurt with a piece of fruit, or you might have a bowl of cereal or a latte with some nuts, so it's really a matter of combining it and not going for just one part of the food group that will end up leaving you hungry and wanting more.
