What Causes a Sensitivity to Gluten?

And we're seeing more and more issues these days with respect to gluten sensitivity.t's really becoming a major problem. You know 1.8% of individuals let's say have the diagnosis of celiac disease but non-celiac gluten sensitivity may involve 30%-40% of the world's population. That's a big number.

We're actually now becoming quite concerned about the role of certain lifestyle issues in actually making people more and likely to be gluten sensitive. For example, when you disrupt the bacteria that live in the gut called the microbiome with things like chlorinated water or taking antibiotics whenever you have a sniffle, this changes the level of these bacteria and makes the intestines more sensitive to reactions that involve gluten.

So we're actually now seeing induction of gluten sensitivity far more than we ever have before.
