When Healthmaker and journalist Richard Cohen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, he didn't know exactly how to react because he didn't know much about the disease. Years later, he explains how he felt in this video.
But, first of all I had a neurologist who thought it was just fine to call me up and just tell me over the telephone and in those days, they just sort of expression was diagnose and adios! I mean, there's nothing much we can do for you and I sat there alone, and I said to myself, I'm not going to react because I really don't know enough about the illness to react, and I'm still waiting to react.
Richard Cohen is a veteran television journalist and author of several best-selling books. He has lived with multiple sclerosis for 40 years.
