Many health care providers embrace the concept of integrative medicine. In this video, Dr. Oz explains what it integrative medicine is, and why more conventional doctors should be open to it.
The Integrative Medicine Movement which really is the globalization of medicine is that appreciation, that unconventional approaches to healing. Although they have not been proven because if they were they would become conventional approaches the healing, may still offer value to patients and therefore warrant our careful use.
And I think if the academic leadership of this country in medicine is unwilling to embrace these therapies to study them, not to advocate them but to evaluate them, then we do need the service. Because consumers will still use them. You end up with the underground system that cultivates use of these therapies.
