Walker graduated with her Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. She pursued a career in psychiatric nursing for over 20 years having worked as Nurse Manager for several in-patient units, Director of Biofeedback, Director of Hospice, and Director of Student Training with a community mental health out-patient center. Walker has also worked in state & federal prisons. Her primary focus however was treating Survivors of Multi-generational Cult Abuse.
Walker, who has a son with bipolar disorder, is currently the founder and President of the International Bipolar Foundation. She spends much of her time and energy championing the mission by increasing public awareness and raising funds for those with mental illness.
Walker also founded NeighborHelp, a local non-profit dedicated to helping the under-privileged.
