Dr. Russ Federman, PhD

Bio

Russ Federman, Ph.D., ABPP, is a psychologist at the University of Virginia’s Counseling and Psychological Services and Clinical Assistant Professor in UVa’s Department of Psychiatry and Neurobiological Sciences. He also conducts a part-time private practice in Charlottesville, VA. He is a licensed psychologist, a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology, and a member of the editorial board for the Journal of College Student Psychotherapy. Dr. Federman co-authored of the 2010 book – "Facing Bipolar: The Young Adult’s Guide to Dealing with Bipolar Disorder" (New Harbinger). He contributed two chapters to the 2012 book - "Healthy Living with Bipolar Disorder" (International Bipolar Foundation). He writes an ongoing blog for Psychology Today titled: “Bipolar You.” Additionally, his article “Treatment of Bipolar Disorder in the University Student Population,” published in Journal of College Student Psychotherapy was the 2011 recipient of the National College Health Foundation’s Jonathan Weiss Writing Award and the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors’ Award for Excellence in Counseling Center Scholarship.
