Sharecare Expert Dr. Ramani Durvasula is Professor of Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the author of You Are WHY You Eat: Change Your Food Attitude, Change Your Life. At CSULA she is Principal Investigator of the National Institute of Mental Health Funded Health Adherence Research Project, the Clinical Director of the Women’s Health Project – an NIMH funded clinical trial examining eating disorders in Latina women, Director of the Psychology Clinic and Clinical Training at CSULA. She was featured on Bravo’s THINtervention as the on-camera psychologist assisting clients with weight loss and wellness, and has also been featured on CNN, E!, the History Channel, and Good Morning America Health as well as on the Dr. Oz show, and is a frequent contributor to print and internet media, appearing in Glamour, Marie Clare, Redbook, Maxim, and a variety of daily newspapers. She has authored or co-authored over 100 publications, book chapters, and conference papers. She brings expertise in the intersection between mental health and wellness, and in addressing core psychological issues with a goal of creating healthier lifestyles.
