[MUSIC PLAYING] Hi, I'm Dr. Miller. One study found that acupuncture combined with moxibustion
provided longer lasting pain relief than a combo of steriods, and joint lubricant injection, and glucosamine dietary supplements.
Moxi what? In moxibustion, a practitioner burns the herb mugwort to apply heat and promote healing.
Other studies, also, suggest it may be effective. While the findings are encouraging, the jury's still out on how effective these treatments are
for osteoarthritis and pain. But experts do agree that acupuncture's safe. So there's no harm in giving it a try.
And don't overlook other alternative remedies for arthritis pain, including yoga and tiche. Both are gentle forms of exercise
to strengthen muscle and improve flexibility and balance. I'm Dr. Miller. Check out all our smart tips for more ways
to improve your health. [MUSIC PLAYING]
