Don't be afraid. Don't be intimidated by the title because they don't know everything.
They know a lot, but sometimes, they don't know everything. And take it upon yourself to take action.
My doctor made it a drawn out process for me to get a medication when all she had to do was listen to me.
I already deal with a specialty pharmacy that handles my medications because of my diagnosis.
And she didn't listen to me. She never called in to the place where I told her to call.
This particular doctor said they normally don't take care of two medications
for the same patient for the same issue. That was not true. So that's how I advocated for myself
because the doctor did not even think they would pay for it. All she had to do was call them, follow the steps,
it would have been done. Because I got out of the hospital without the medication initially.
But then I called this pharmacy myself, and they got it, they took it, and they paid for it.
And now they're paying for it every month. [AUDIO LOGO]
