Should I take vitamin B12 alone or with other B vitamins?

It's best to take vitamin B12 (cobalamin) with other B vitamins, including vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), to prevent a B-vitamin imbalance. Some studies show that supplement combinations of vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and folic acid may reduce the risk of stroke. Other studies show that combinations of these three B vitamins may lower the risk of cervical and breast cancers. More study is needed to confirm these findings. Talk to your doctor about your need for B vitamins and whether taking supplements is recommended for you.
