Tripedia should not be used by anyone younger than six weeks of age or over seven years of age. For anyone over seven years of age, other diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine options are available. If the child has had a negative reaction to a vaccine for pertussis in the past, then the DT or diphtheria tetanus version should be administered instead. Also, children who have neurological disorders not currently controlled through treatment should not be given the vaccination.
