Kegel exercises are designed to increase the strength of the muscles of the pelvic floor. The urethra passes through the muscles of the pelvic floor and they are partially responsible for preventing the flow of urine by applying pressure to the urethra. Regular Kegel exercises will increase the strength of the muscles of the pelvic floors ability to apply adequate pressure to the urethra to prevent unwanted leakage during activities
of daily life.
