What are the treatment options for pulsatile tinnitus?

To treat pulsatile tinnitus, you may need to treat an underlying blood vessel problem that is causing the pulse-like noise in your ears. Causes can range from atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in the arteries) to tumors, so you may need medicine or surgery. If the problem can't be cured, you can try drowning out the sound with a white noise machine or a tinnitus masker, a hearing-aid-sized white noise machine you wear in your ear. Treatment for anxiety and depression may also help, as both can make tinnitus seem worse.
