Is there a cure for hypogeusia?

Hypogeusia is typically the result of an underlying condition. Infections, allergies, smoking, dehydration, and the use of certain prescription drugs can all contribute to hypogeusia. Usually, treating the underlying cause of hypogeusia is enough to cure the condition. Sometimes, hypogeusia is permanent and cannot be cured.
