What is an autoclave?

An autoclave is a machine that uses heat to kill germs. An autoclave should be used to sterilize tattooing and piercing equipment that is not disposable. The equipment should be sterilized in between each customer to prevent the spread of diseases such as HIV, hepatitis and tetanus. Needles should not be used on multiple customers, even if they are cleaned.
