What are dermabrasion and microdermabrasion?

The difference between dermabrasion and microdermabrasion refers to the depth of skin treated. Microdermabrasion exfoliates the top layer of skin, while dermabrasion exfoliates much deeper. Dermabrasion reduces the appearance of deep wrinkles and scars. Microdermabrasion is only effective for treating fine lines and wrinkles, as well as light scars.
