What can I do about flaking on my eyelids?

The flaking along the eyelid margins comes from secretions from oil secreting glands near the eyelash follicles. This is a condition called blepharitis. You can clean these flakes off with a dilute baby shampoo solution and cotton balls or a commercially available pretreated towelette.  Also warm compresses can help reduce these secretions.  Persistence or worsening of these symptoms requires evaluation by a specialist.
