What problems can occur in conjunction with a rotator cuff tear?

Kristofer J. Jones, MD
Orthopedic Surgery
If you have a rotator cuff problem, you may experience biceps tendinitis in addition to it. With rotator cuff problems and general inflammation in the shoulder, the biceps tendon usually tends to be affected as well. This is treated with non-steroidal medication and an injection. Physical therapy is always the mainstay, but if needed, surgery can be performed.

The other condition that can go hand in hand with rotator cuff problems is adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), which also typically resolves over time (12-18 months) with a focused therapy program.
