How does loratadine interact with other medications and food?

Certain medications and foods can interact adversely with loratadine. For example, the medication amiodarone, used to treat certain heart problems, may interact with loratadine and worsen the heart problems. Cimetidine, erythromycin, ketoconaxole and nefazodone can each interact with loratadine and cause heart problems. You should tell your doctor of any other medication you are taking, including other cold and allergy medications, vitamins, supplements and herbal products. This medication may be taken with or without food.
