Entex LA is no longer available in the United States.
Entex LA, the prescription drugs guaifenesin and phenylpropanolamine, is used to treat cough and congestion caused by the common cold. It may also be used to provide relief from sinus, lung, and throat infections. Guaifenesin breaks up mucus to make it easier to breathe. It also restores the natural lubrication to the nose, throat, and lungs so that mucus can exit the body more easily. Phenylpropanolamine reduces mucus membranes in the nose by shrinking the blood vessels in the nose. Entex LA is a combination of an expectorant and decongestant. While Entex LA will make it easier to breathe, it will not cure an illness or infection. Entex LA is known as an upper respiratory combination medication.
