Amprenavir is no longer available in the U.S.
Amprenavir is a protease inhibitor that is used along with other retroviral medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Amprenavir does not cure HIV, but can slow down the damage it does to the immune system. However, this does not prevent acquiring HIV-related illnesses, nor does it prevent the transmission of the disease. It is available under the brand name Agenerase.
