Can I use pentazocine if I am taking Roxicodone?

If you're taking Roxicodone (oxycodone), tell your doctor before you receive an injection of pentazocine (Talwin) or take any other form of pentazocine (which is sometimes paired with other drugs in tablet form). Roxicodone and pentazocine are both prescription pain medications. However, pentazocine may reduce the effectiveness of Roxicodone. Your doctor will administer pentazocine with caution if you're already taking Roxicodone.
