Can I use Dilaudid if I have a history of low blood pressure?

If you have ever been diagnosed with low blood pressure, tell your doctor before taking Dilaudid (hydromorphone). Dilaudid is a pain reliever. This medication can cause a variety of side effects, including a drop in blood pressure. Very low blood pressure is called hypotension. Some people who have hypotension have problems with dizziness or fainting, which could worsen while taking Dilaudid. You may still be able to take Dilaudid if you have low blood pressure, but it's important for your doctor to know.
